From a family business to a culinary destination

The Gaitanis family’s journey in the world of gastronomy began in 1997, when Mr. Giorgos and Mrs. Elli opened their first seafood restaurant in Kastoria. With a love for cooking and many years of experience in hospitality, they served fresh seafood from Lefkada and Halkidiki, creating the most renowned seafood restaurant in the area.

That passion passed to the second generation. Kostas and Tasos took up the family tradition with vigor, each bringing his own dedication and expertise. Tasos, a graduate of culinary arts, has passionately overseen the kitchens, enriching the menus with technique and creativity. Kostas, with a special interest in the world of wine, has developed a deep connection with oenology and maintains a personal collaboration with a winery to create the “Gaitanis Wines” series, while also curating the large cellar featured at both restaurants. Aiming to expand the taste experience, in 2019 the business moved into meat, opening Gaitanis MeatHouse, a destination for lovers of premium cuts.
